FAQ

The Aircell™ is designed to optimize the airflow entering the engine. As air moves from the charge-air system into the intake manifold, the Aircell helps condition that airflow via an originally patented helix bore that effectively organizes the air before entering the cylinders.

More consistent airflow distribution can help the engine make more efficient use of the air available for combustion. Because diesel engines rely on large volumes of air to produce power, even subtle improvements in airflow characteristics can influence overall engine efficiency and performance.

The result is a simple, bolt-on upgrade designed to help diesel engines operate more efficiently without tuning or permanent modifications.

Many customers report improvements in fuel economy after installing the Aircell, particularly in applications that spend significant time under load or at steady cruising speeds. Typical customer reports are between .2 and .5 MPG increase in fuel mileage gain.

Fuel economy is influenced by many factors, including engine configuration, driving habits, terrain, load weight, maintenance condition, weather, aerodynamics and fuel quality- among other variabilities. Because of these variables, results will vary from one vehicle to another.

The Aircell is designed to improve airflow characteristics entering the engine, which may contribute to more efficient combustion under certain operating conditions. While most customers experience measurable fuel savings, no specific fuel economy improvement can be guaranteed.

However, we’re so confident in the effectiveness of the Aircell that we offer a 90 day money-back guarantee to experience the fuel saving for yourself. We encourage all customers to rigorously check mileage before and after install to understand what fuel mileage gains are with the Aircell Intake Spacer.

OEMs design vehicles around cost, packaging constraints, emissions requirements, noise regulations, durability targets, and mass-production considerations. Aftermarket products are often designed to optimize a specific aspect of performance that may not be a manufacturer’s primary objective. At Aircell Intake Spacers, our main goal is to optimize fuel efficiency.

The Aircell generally improves pulling power and throttle response, especially under load.

While some customers report stronger acceleration and improved drivability, actual torque gains vary by engine and application. The Aircell is designed to optimize airflow entering the engine, which contribute to improved engine performance and efficiency. Individual results may vary.

No, installing the Aircell does not automatically void your warranty. Vehicle manufacturers generally must show that an aftermarket part caused or contributed to a failure before denying warranty coverage for that repair. The Aircell is designed as a bolt-on intake modification that does not require permanent engine modifications. The Aircell Intake Spacer can be installed and removed at will with no modifications necessary.
Most installations can be completed in less than 15 minutes. The Aircell was designed to provide a simple upgrade that gets you back on the road quickly.
Yes. The Aircell is designed with the do-it-yourself owner in mind. Most customers with basic mechanical experience can complete the installation in under 15 minutes.
No. Installation typically only requires a nut driver or wrench to remove the existing intake hose clamp and install the included stainless steel hose clamp.
Yes. The Aircell is specifically designed to work with stock engines and factory calibrations, making it an easy upgrade for owners who want to improve performance without extensive modifications.
In many cases, yes. The Aircell can complement existing performance modifications by helping optimize airflow into the engine.
No. The Aircell is designed to provide its benefits without requiring ECU tuning, software changes, or recalibration.
Absolutely. The Aircell can typically be removed at any time, allowing the intake system to be returned to its original configuration if desired.
The Aircell is installed in the intake tract and does not require modification of factory emissions equipment.
Yes. The Aircell is designed to be compatible with modern diesel engines equipped with factory emissions systems.
Each Aircell kit includes all components needed for installation, along with detailed instructions to help make installation as simple as possible. Included are the Aircell Intake Spacer and a premium stainless steel hose clamp. Model ACFUSA-VC201 is also equipped with an o-ring specific to its configuration.
The Aircell installs directly in the intake tract between the intake hose and the intake manifold, allowing it to alter airflow before air enters the engine. Most applications involve removing the rubber intake hose from the manifold, slipping the Aircell into the manifold and reinstalling the hose. Afterward, an included stainless steel hose clamp is installed on the hose, directly over the Aircell, and tightened for a secure fit.
No permanent modifications are required, making installation fast, straightforward and reversible.
Yes. The Aircell can be removed without permanent changes to the vehicle.
Professional installation is not required. Most owners can install the Aircell themselves in under 15 minutes and with only a nut driver or socket wrench.
Yes. Every Aircell kit includes installation instructions, and additional support is available if needed.
Yes. Installation videos are available to help customers complete installation with confidence. Please click here to view the installation video.
Many customers are interested in the Aircell because of the demands placed on diesel engines during towing and hauling. While results vary, the Aircell is designed to support efficient airflow under a wide range of operating conditions, including heavy or light loads, even bobtailing.
Yes. The Aircell is suitable for both individual owner-operators and fleet applications. Efficiency improvements become even more meaningful when multiplied across multiple vehicles considering that fuel is generally the highest expense.
Yes. The Aircell has undergone dyno testing and real-world evaluation. We continue gathering customer feedback and performance data to better understand how the product performs across a variety of applications. You can check out the dyno results here.
Yes! We are so confident in the effectiveness of the Aircell that we offer a no hassle 90-day money-back guarantee on all purchases.
